TurboFire Chili

Don't let the name of this dish fool you! Its not spicy at all and it actually gets it name from Chalene Johnson's TurboFire Workout.

I am pretty particular about my chili and have ALWAYS loved the one I ate growing up as a kid that my mom taught me how to make. I love it, my kids love it and my husband loves it, so why mess with a good thing? Well as much as I LOVE my moms recipe, the sauce is loaded with sugar. So, when I'm really trying to dial in my nutrition, it's not on the list of foods I can eat. But this recipe is and everyone in my house loved it! The other great part about this recipe is that its all done in the crock pot!

Ingredients
1 lb. lean ground turkey
1 can diced tomatoes
8 oz. whole kernel corn, canned
½ onion, diced
2 cloves garlic
8 oz. black beans, canned
8 oz. pinto, chili, or kidney beans canned
1 tbsp tomato paste
4 oz. low-fat shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Directions. Brown turkey. Drain and discard any fat. Place all ingredients except cheese into a slow cooker. Cook for 4 hours on low or 2 hours on high. Top with 1 oz cheese if desired. You can really spice this up by adding additional chili powder or hot sauce.
